Dianna's Corner // Lessons in Love I've Learned

Love is an amazing and beautiful thing. I think it’s the one constant right in the world. Love has a way with our mind and soul like nothing else.

But…love isn’t easy. I for one haven’t always had a heart full of love. My life, like so many of us, has had quite a few curveballs. I have spent too many years filled with anger and hate, and let’s just say, those aren’t my most shining moments in life. But, I am grateful for them. Through this crazy and beautiful life I’ve lived so far, I’d like to think that I’ve learned a few things about love.

I have learned that time doesn’t heal, love does. Love will breakdown walls and soften hearts if we let it. Love takes work, sometimes a LOT of work. The more love we let in the less room we have for hate. Love isn’t always easy. Sometimes you have to fight to hold on and fight to let go. The loss of love is heartbreaking and can hurt to the very core of our soul. Love with all your heart and don’t leave words of love unsaid. Love is accepting and all-seeing. Love is strong.

One of my favorite bible verses states it perfectly,

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”  (1 Corinthians 13:4–8)

Sending nothing but love and happiness.

Without respect, love is lost.
Without caring, love is boring.
Without honesty, love is unhappy.
Without trust, love is unstable.
